Friday Favorites: Autumn, but not Halloween:)

Not to offend anyone, but personally, I have never been a big fan of Halloween as I am a huge chicken. When I'm up late at night designing and the house is quiet, my imagination STILL gets the better of me:) Last night after the kids had gone to bed, M and I were relaxing on the couch watching some tv, (which rarely happens these days), and it seemed like every commercial was for some insanely scary movie. My immediate and involuntary reaction is to simultaneously hide and turn the channel, which only resulted in me somehow locking the channel and turning up the volume... adding to my mini-freak out. Meanwhile, M got a good laugh. And then it happened again at the next commercial break. I think I'm swearing off tv in October from now on! Can I do Lent in October?

Regardless what my thoughts are on the subject, I do have small children who think dressing up is one of the coolest things ever, and it kind of is:) Because of my love for them, and how stinking cute they look all dressed up, we will partake in Halloween, I suppose.

Although I don't care for Halloween, I LOVE Autumn, Fall, Football Season, take your pick. Growing up in Virginia my memories of this time of year are of leaves changing, crisp, cool air and going to the mountains for the Apple Festival. To this day, those are still the best apples I've ever had:) Not to be a complete kill-joy, I've found some alternative decorative pumpkin ideas that I'd like to share with you. I'll take beautifully chic pumpkins over ghoulish jack-o-lanterns any day:) That being said, I'm sure M will get a pumpkin for the kids to carve up:)
FYI: Dane will be dressed as Astro Boy and Isla will be a Middle-Eastern Fairy Princess:) Will most definitely be posting photos!!

  1. Well, I guess that means you won't be coming to our Halloween party. Your sister never shows either. Scary cats :) You know Halloween is my favorite holiday. Miss ya girl! Give the babies hugs and kisses :)
